At 1 A.M in the night!

It is strange how you feel when the light goes out. You haven’t slept for the past 2 days. It’s very hot, despite the mild showers today, in fact it has made the weather humid for the worse. You are sweating badly, and as if it was already not hot enough the laptop’s base is almost burning, you can feel your thighs melting away. And the worst part is yet to be told, the mosquitoes, your all-out is all used up, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway; the power cut doesn’t let it. They would sing songs right in your ears, all at a time. You wouldn’t know whom to pay attention to. Reminds you of the elves in fantasy epics. Only, the mosquito songs, understandably, are a bit annoying.
And so you come out of your room to the balcony. A cool breeze is blowing, the heat just seems to disappear, you wonder why do you ever sleep in the room, which is baked in sunlight the whole day long. Just when the feel good factor starts settling in, you face the reality, the MOSQUITOES. Yes they are back and quite with a bang. With almost double in numbers and more active, if that was not enough some other smaller insects are amused by the laptop screen. No matter how hard you try to fend off the mosquitoes they would come at you from different angles, with different velocities and sometimes with different songs. They insist that they give you a love-bite, and sadly the choice is not left to you. But you persist(not that you have any choice, but still to your credit you persist) , each time they come at you, you shoo them away or sometimes kill them, satisfied and delighted with the job just done, your chest swells with pride, you feel as if you are a gr8 ancient warrior, straight out of Sparta, adept at battle techniques; but then you think even a Spartan would have a tough time fighting these mosquitoes, no strategy he could think of would work against them, they are just too many, the Spartan like always is outnumbered. And so there is glory in fighting them.
So you give all your heart and soul into the battle. After several quantams of 10 minutes, a street light glows, another, yet another, oh my god, it’s for real, the power cut has been cut off. Oh yeah this place doesn’t experience power cuts but rather experiences power-cut-cuts. You are delighted at the welcome change. You think now you would start your work, but just as your laptop boots up your gaze fall at the bottom right of the screen, time! It’s time to go to bed, if you are to be awake any longer it would mean 3 days without proper sleep, you start thinking are you getting insomaniac? Don’t know, but I don’t fancy the condition, so off to sleep now.
